"I'm not a majesty...I'm a princess"

So Olivia never fails to amaze me with some of the things that come out of her mouth. The funny thing is thinking about the fact that most of it started in her brain. While there are times when she says something cute, there are often times she says something sarcastic. No matter what though, it is always funny.

Like, last weekend we were visiting my dad and mom #2. Well she was on the computer planning a card game and I was just watching. Olivia walks in and decides to stand right in front of me. "Umm, Olivia mommy can't see with your head in the way". She starts to whine about how she can't see if she moves and I point her to a spot a few inches over which will make us both happy. Well, instead of moving to where I pointed, she takes about five steps back, tilts her little head, puts one hip out, both hands in the air and with an attitude says "Well, if I stand here then you can see". While it was funny, it was one of her smart comment moments that drives me nuts.

Most recently we were in the car coming from the mall (one of her favorite places to go). One of her favorite songs was on, Ke$ha's "We r who we r". Instead of asking to turn it up, she politely says to Anthony "Daddy, you can turn this up". To which he replies, "Oh thank you your highness". Then Olivia says, "I'm not a highness" and he says "Oh, well thank you your majesty". "Daddy, I am NOT a majesty. I am a princess". This of course causes me and Anthony to laugh because it was too cute.

Those are the moments that I am very happy and thankful to have my little "princess" around to give me a good and much needed laugh.

"Ummmm....is that a new baby in your belly??"

So for those of you that know me, you know that last year I lost my baby boy at 39 weeks. The doctors never could find the reason, but there was lots of speculation. Either way, Anthony and I have managed to wake up each day, smiling and happy, taking each day as it comes. Most would not even know by looking at us the big loss we suffered. And those that do, they are pretty surprised at how well we handle it. But on to the true matter at hand.

For the past few weeks, my lovely and sweet daughter has been making little comments about my weight. To put it in her exact words, "Mommy, you are FAT!!". "Thanks Olivia, that makes mommy feel awesome" is usually the sarcastic response she gets. Of course she has no idea that I am being sarcastic, but I think it makes me feel better.

Well, this past Saturday, I was in the bedroom sitting on the bed when Ms. Olivia comes in to see what I am doing. She stands there with her head kind of cocked to the side and looks at me. Then, all of a sudden she asks me "Mommy, is there a NEW baby in your belly?". Now because of what happened last year and because I do not want to confuse the poor child, I hesitated. But I am probably the worst liar, even to a four year old. So I said "Ummmmm....yes". Olivia then asked if she could kiss it and then went on her merry little way to finish playing.

It really amazed me because I am almost 13 weeks and showing a little. I was surprised that my four year old daughter could already see that I was pregnant. How come when we want them to see their dirty room, or the green beans on the dinner plate, that they all of a sudden do not know what we are talking about.

It goes to show, that kids ARE smarter than we think!!

Where have you been???

Ok, so I am offically calling myself a bab blogger. I sort of diappeared there for a while. Let's just say it was extremely busy around here. With the holidays, work and school...I was just too through. But I have made a resolution to make a post at least once a week if not more. So I guess the question most are wondering is...where have you been???

Not much has changed except I still have a ton of pictures to pull off of my camera. So on top of the late birthday party pictures, I know need to add the late christmas pictures. Those will show up...evenutally! We are still loving and living each day with our funny Olivia.
